About me

My name is Karina (comfortable with she/her/they pronouns), and I love my work.

I have worked, learned, and volunteered in community and social service spaces for over 15 years, including a community sexual assault centre, Victim Services, a shelter for women and children, employment services, schools, and municipal programs. The majority of my career has been dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate their mental health, life transitions, trauma, and survival needs. I am truly honoured to be able to walk alongside my clients and bear witness as they navigate and/or process the most challenging times of their lives. Opening up is not always easy, especially with a stranger, so I approach my practice with gratitude for the information that is shared with me, and the vulnerability my clients demonstrate.

More formally, I have a Masters in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Trent University, a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, and a certificate in Human Resource Management from York University.

In my personal time I enjoy dancing, reading, cooking, socializing, relaxing, playing, and learning!
